Victorious athletes in ancient Greece were presented with laurel wreaths to wear. They were, and still are, signs of great accomplishment, unless you start resting on them… Well, the team at FundStar are too busy to rest on ours.
Here are three exciting FundStar developments:
- Last week we started our first FundStar email campaign to 38,000 UK education contacts, encouraging primary, secondary and independent schools to use FundStar to raise money easily, effectively and in a smart way. We’re also working on a national marketing campaign so soon parents, guardians, grandparents and alumni will see the FundStar brand out and about …
- Talking of which, we know that communication between school and parents is key, so we are putting together a communication package. We hope it will take the pressure away from schools whilst ensuring parents, guardians, grandparents and alumni hear about FundStar and schools’ fundraising projects on a regular basis.
- Finally, we’ll be launching a reward club in September to encourage parents to select their FundStar card rather than their current debit or credit card. Money off a trip to the cinema? Discount in a restaurant, supermarket or department store? Oh go on then!
Having started this update with reference to ancient Greece, there’s a second reason for mentioning a civilisation that existed 2,500 years ago.
FundStar is a not-for-profit social enterprise. It’s being funded by philanthropist David Evans; philanthropist from the Greek ‘philanthropos’ (adj.) meaning ‘loving mankind, useful to man’.
Not only is David turning everyone’s wallets into virtual donating tins, turning the UK’s 450,000 payment points in shops, cafés and pubs into places in which customers can support their children’s education, David has also set up his own charitable foundation. The David Evans Grass Roots Foundation is helping to deliver a well-rounded education to children and young people in the UK. Wishing you a successful fundraising day,
